The Senate of the [[Imperivm Romanvm]] is a council where a select few citizens can discuss the state of the Republic and issue Senatus consulta as directives. They can also issue the Senatus consultum ultimum. These are virtually all decisive in nature, sometimes regarding appointments. It is said by Polybian theorists to represent the element of oligarchy in the Roman political equilibrium.
