If any senator misses a scheduled debate (assuming the date discussed was planned at least a week earlier) then the senate can punish the senator that has missed the session if the absence was not planned or without reasonable cause. A senator can join a debate at any time but debates are always scheduled between 09:00 UTC+10 and end 17:00 UTC−08. A debate can start at any time between these times but always end at 17:00 UTC-08 (if no conclusion has occurred, a senate session can be extended as long as it does not conflict with another session).
